Zero-waste, long before it became a statement.
At La Femme MiMi, we have been working with fabric remnants for almost twenty years.
Collars and obi belts were among the very first pieces created in our atelier.
Not because we were looking for a “zero-waste” concept back then.
Simply because beautiful fabric deserves to be used down to the very last centimetre.
And also because a collar or an obi belt can transform an entire wardrobe. It can add character, change proportions, bring in colour, a little drama. One dress, several different moods.
Now comes the next chapter.
We have paired our new collar with an antique brooch from my own collection. I have been collecting brooches since 1993 — long before I ever imagined that one day they would meet my fabrics.
Perhaps that is what I love most about fashion:
when the past doesn’t have to become the past.
It can be worn again.
And given an entirely new life.
